Firstly Door to door is the traditional method. The truck arrives its loaded and then driven to the new address and unloaded usually by the same men that loaded first. Simple the same men pack your goods and they unpack your goods knowing full well how they packed them in the first place.

The downside here is usually on a long haul the driver will be looking for a return load (Backload )and time may alter to suit.
I had one load 3 days late in one move because the return load was not ready for pick up at the time that suited me.

Important to note if you relocate door to door check the security of the vehicle for which your worldly goods are held.
You would be surprised at minor theft in these instances sometime not noticed by yourselves until months later.

Thanks Charlie and Lisa , common sense really you don't need a web page to tell you all that. When moving house it always pays to make a moving house checklist. It sounds like a corny idea but it works. Always include the kids if you have any or the pets or even both. When checking on the relocation specialist also check what they can include for the pets or specialists items like art works or electronic equipment (make sure they can handle a plasma TV if you have one). I like to call them relocation specialist as it sound more general than just furniture removalist or furniture movers.

companies rely on subcontractor to fulfill the contract with you.
International
movers with offices around the world are few and far between and can be costly .
I do not hear negativity usually with international relocators, more the
local interstate or distance relocations. You have to trust some one sometimes
so go with what you feel is right. Check that they are a proper relocation
company and also ascertain if they are members of any organization of relocation

Brett , Hairdressers like many semi and qualified people including Brits are needed throughout Australia, I would suggest find some job sites on line and check out the possibilities, seek.com.au looks good. Also wait until you arrive it will be much easier when your or her future employer can see her face to face. I would say now that a good percentage of hair dressers in Australia are from the UK., well that what it seems, And we always need good quality nurses. Good Luck and welcome.
